Cherry Bar-be-que Sauce

Makes 3 1/2 cups
List of Ingredients
1 medium onion, chopped
2 T butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 C fresh cherries, pitted and coarsely chopped
1 C ketchup
2/3 C packed brown sugar
1/4 C balsamic vinegar
1 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T bourbon
2 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp liquid smoke (opt)Recipe
In large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add garlic, cook 1 minute longer. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 20 minutes, or until cherries are tender and sauce has thickened. Pour cooled mixture into a blender and blend until smooth.
