    Plum-Good Barbecue Sauce

    Source of Recipe

From "Grill It!" by Better Homes and Gardens

    Recipe Introduction

    Makes about 2 1/2 cups
Plum and lemon flavors dominate this sauce, which would be ideal for grilled chicken but would also add zing to grilled tofu.

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 tablespoon butter
1 15-ounce can whole, unpitted purple plums, undrained
1 6-ounce can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
    1/4 cup ketchup
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    2 teaspoons yellow mustard
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

    Recipe

In a medium saucepan, cook onion in hot butter over medium heat, about 5 minutes or until tender. Meanwhile, drain plums, reserving liquid. Remove pits from plums and discard pits. In a blender or food processor, combine plums and reserved liquid. Cover and blend until smooth.

Transfer pureed plums to saucepan and add lemonade concentrate, ketchup, soy sauce, mustard, ginger and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes, or until sauce reaches desired consistency, stirring occasionally.

Cover and refrigerate if not using right away.
