    1 C butter
    1 C sugar
    1/2 C sweet milk
    1 egg
    2 C oatmeal
    2 C flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp soda
    1/2 tsp nutmeg

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg and milk. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add oatmeal and mix well. Roll out on floured board. Cut and bake in moderate oven. When cool spread filling between cookies.
    Filling;
    1/3 C sugar
    1/3 C hot water
    1 C raisins or dates, chopped
    1 tsp butter
    Combine ingredients and cook until thick. Cool.
