    List of Ingredients




    1 tsp olive oil
    1 c chopped onion
    3 cloves garlic, pressed
    1/4 pound ham, in 1 inch dice
    2 C canned, diced tomatoes
    1 1/2 C water
    3/4 C lentils
    2 tsp cumin
    2 T balsamic vinegar
    salt
    pepper
    1/2 C fresh basil, torn up

    Recipe



    Saute onion in oil for 2 minutes. Add garlic and saute for 3 minutes.

    Add tomatoes and water. Bring to a rolling boil and slowly add the lentils, so the boil does not stop. Cover and boil gently for 20 minutes.
