    Bacon Nut Corn Sticks

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.--1 dozen

    List of Ingredients




    1 C sifted flour
    1/4 C sugar
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    3/4 tsp salt
    1 C yellow cornmeal
    1/3 coarsely chopped pecans
    6-8 slices bacon in half inch squares
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 C buttermilk
    5 T melted butter

    Recipe



    Blend first 5 ingredients together in a bowl. Thoroughly mix in the cornmeal, nuts and cooked bacon.
    Blend egg, buttermilk and butter. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Add liquid ingredients, all at once, beat until well combined.
    Spoon mixture into 12 hot greased corn-stick pan sections. Bake 10-15 minutes.
