    List of Ingredients


    • 2/3 C wild rice
    • 3 C water and 3 cubes chicken bouillon
    • 4 slices bacon, cut in 1 inch pieces
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
    • 3 stalks of celery, chopped
    • 2 C bread crumbs
    • 1 tsp crushed leaf oregano
    • 1 C diced apple
    • 1/2 tsp crushed leaf sage
    • 1/2 C chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. Combnie wild rice, water and bouillon in 3 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes until rice is tender.
    2. Drain any excess liquid. While rice simmers, saute bacon until crisp, then add onion, mushroom and bread crumbs.
    3. Makes enough to stuff a 10-14 pound turkey.
    4. For duck or geese;
    5. Substitute 1/2 C cooked and crumbled sausage for the bread crumbs.
