Wild rice stuffing

List of Ingredients
- 2/3 C wild rice
- 3 C water and 3 cubes chicken bouillon
- 4 slices bacon, cut in 1 inch pieces
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 3 stalks of celery, chopped
- 2 C bread crumbs
- 1 tsp crushed leaf oregano
- 1 C diced apple
- 1/2 tsp crushed leaf sage
- 1/2 C chopped nuts
Instructions
- Combnie wild rice, water and bouillon in 3 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes until rice is tender.
- Drain any excess liquid. While rice simmers, saute bacon until crisp, then add onion, mushroom and bread crumbs.
- Makes enough to stuff a 10-14 pound turkey.
- For duck or geese;
- Substitute 1/2 C cooked and crumbled sausage for the bread crumbs.
