    Recipe adapted from the Oriental Step-by-Step Cookbook

    List of Ingredients




    3/4 lbs. pork tenderloin
    l chili pepper, seeded & chopped
    2 leeks or green onions
    1/2 small can pineapple chunks
    4 green bell peppers, seeded & sliced
    1 beaten egg
    2 TBS. cornstarch
    1 large clove garlic, chopped
    Oil for frying

    1 TBS. sake or sherry

    SAUCE: 1/4 c. wine vinegar
    1-2 TBS. soy sauce
    4 1/2 TBS. sugar
    1 TBS. ketchup
    2 TBS. Worcestershire sauce

    Recipe



    Cut pork into 1/2" slices; pound lightly on both sides, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
    Mix all sauce ingredients. Dip pork into beaten egg. Roll in 1/2 the cornstarch then fry in
    2 TBS. oil over moderate heat til cooked through. Saute' garlic in wok with 1 1/2 TBS. oil. When aromatic, add chili, pineapple, onions and meat, stir-frying. Flavor with sake. Pour in sauce, stirring quickly. Dilute 2 tsp. cornstarch with 4 tsp. water. Add to thicken sauce. Mix thoroughly and turn off heat. Serve with rice. Serves 4.
