Quick Mayo Topping
Mayonnaise has long been a popular topping. Armed with a blender or a hand held mixer, a person can make a quick Mayo in only a few seconds. Mayo is essentially just egg yolks and oil whipped together with a little seasoning. This recipe is for a mayo like topping that realizes the necessity that eggs may not be available that often. It uses an entire egg, (white and yolk).
List of Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup oil (Canola, vegetable etc)
- dash salt
- dash pepper
Instructions
- Place ingredients in a large cup and stick your hand held mixer into it. Turn it on and quickly move the mixer up and down. Within seconds you have a mayo like topping.
- Put ingredients in blender and turn on 'Whip' within seconds you have a mayo like topping
- Put ingredients in a bowl and whip by hand. This process takes a little longer
Final Comments
Add ketchup to this and you have 'French Dressing', add
Ketchup and relish to this and you have 'Thousand Island dressing', add Herbs and some spices and you have 'Ranch Dressing' etc. etc. etc.
