    The "Best" Mac & Cheese


    List of Ingredients


    • 6 Tbsp butter or marg
    • 6 Tbsp flour
    • 3 Cups whole milk
    • salt & pepper to taste
    • 1/4 tsp cayenne or to taste
    • 1 Tbsp dry minced onion
    • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
    • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
    • 8 oz elbow mac dry
    • 8 oz Velvetta or cheddar cheese


    Instructions


    1. Cook macaroni acording to package direction to al'dente
      DO NOT OVER COOK
    2. Melt butter in med sauce pan. Add flour and stir well. Continue stirring for 2 minutes
    3. Slowly add milk. Mixture will thicken. Simmer and stir for 5 min. Add the spices.
    4. Add cheese and stir til melted
    5. Combine macaroni with cheese sauce and pour into a sprayed 2 1/2 qt casserole.
    6. You may put bread crumbs on top if desired or sprinkle with Parm cheese.
    7. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 30 minutes
    8. If you are adding ham or vegetables, stir into cheese sauce before combining with macaroni.


    Final Comments


    This is very cheesy and moist!
