    NUTS: Maple-Glazed Walnuts

    Source of Recipe

    Pillsbury's Holiday Baking

    Recipe Introduction

Though this calls for walnuts this recipe is just as good (if not better!) with pecans!

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp maple flavoring (extract)
    2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt (I used 1 tsp coarse sea salt)
1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce - more or less to taste
2 cups walnut halves or pieces

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil,; spray foil w/ PAM. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except walnuts and mix well. Add nuts and toss to coat. Spread on prepared cookie sheet, separating with fork.

Bake in preheated oven 17 to 22, stirring every 5 minutes or until glaze thickens and asheres to nuts. Watch during the last 5 minutes of baking to prevent burning. Place nuts on wax paper. Cool 10 minutes, or until completely cooled and break apart. 2 cups; 16 servings

NOTE: If nuts become sticky (reason: underbaked)stick in oven and bake a few more minutes. Store in a tightly sealed tin.
