    Recipe Introduction

    This dish is usually made when there's some sort of celebration or party. (birth, wedding, etc) A mixture of seasoned beef, vegetables, and noodles. A very simple dish to make!

    List of Ingredients


    Most of these ingredients can be readily found in the oriental food isle of your grocery store. If not, check out your local Asian market. They will have it all, including the Korean wine & onion.

    Recipe

    1 (3.5 oz) pkg bean threads
    10 oz lean beef - have the butcher cut meat into thin slices

    Marinade
    1/4 c soy sauce
    2 tbsp sesame oil
    2 tsp sugar
    1 c Korean wine

    1 1/4 c oil - for stir frying

    Finely chopped Korean onions (scallions may be substituted)

    2 Korean onion (scallions) - sliced diagonally.
    1 (8 oz) pkg dried mushrooms, soaked in water - cut into strips
    2/3 oz dried ear mushrooms, soaked in water & cut into bite size pieces (usually sold in bulk)
    2 carrots & 2 green peppers, cut into the strips
    Sea salt and Coarse black pepper
    Crushed garlic cloves
    Roasted sesame seeds

    Sauce
    2 tsp roasted sesame seeds
    1 1/4 c soy sauce
    1 tsp sugar
    2/3 tsp sesame oil,
    Crushed garlic cloves
    Black pepper
    MSG - optiona

    Cooked bean threads in salted, boiling water for 3- 4 minutes until transparent. Drain and cut into 3" length. Set aside.

    Cut beef into strips. Mix marinade ingredients with beef and marinate in a large glass bowl. This may be used right away, but may stay in marinade for up to 2 days (in the frig) if not used immediately.

    Heat some oil in a large skillet or wok. Add Korean onion and cook quickly. Season with salt, pepper, garlic & sesame seeds. Cook all vegetables this same way. Remove from pan & keep warm.

    Heat more oil and cook beef strips. Removing meat from bowl with slotted spoon. Transfer meat from skillet when cooked to plate and keep warm.

    Combine roasted sesame seeds, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, pepper and MSG, if using, in a small glass bowl. Add bean threads to skillet. Pour over soy sauce mixture and toss well. Add vegetables and beef. Mix all and serve. This will serve about 6-8 people.
