    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 pounds ground round
    2/3 cup bread crumbs, plain/dry
    1 cup skim milk
    2 eggs
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1/8 teaspoon sage
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon black pepper
    1/4 cup ketchup
    3 tablespoons light brown sugar
    1 teaspoon dry mustard
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, onion, sage, salt, and pepper; mix well. Place in 9x5" loaf pan that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and spread over the top of the meat mixture. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until no pink remains in the meat. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes: This is a soft meat loaf; to make firmer use 1 cup bread crumbs instead of 2/3 cup.

    Adapts well to added flavorings
