QUICK BREAD: Butter-Pecan Bread

2 1/4 cups sifted enriched flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 slightly beaten egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp butter or margarine melted
Recipe
Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and spices; stir in sugar and pecans. Combine egg, buttermilk, and butter; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Pour into greased 9 1/2 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 �F) 45 minutes or till done. Cool slightly before removing from the pan. Sandwich thin slices of Butter Pecan Bread with softened cream cheese and orange marmalade. Serve with fruit salad.
