    Source of Recipe

    LyndaMc994

    Recipe Introduction

This is so much better than a plain old pound cake and healthier too! The chocolate bakes right into the vanilla, resulting in a contrasting swirl of black-and-white yumminess!

    List of Ingredients

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).

    2. Coat a 10" tube pan with:

    nonstick cooking spray

    3. Dust with:

    breadcrumbs

    4. Combine, mixing well:

    3 c. flour
    1 t. baking powder
    1/4 t. salt

    5. In a large bowl, beat at medium speed until light and fluffy:

3/4 c. butter or margarine softened

    6. Gradually add:

    2 c. sugar
    2 t. vanilla

    7. Beat until well-blended.

    8. Gradually add, beating after each addition:

    3/4 c. egg substitute (or 3 eggs)

    9. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, alternating with:

    1 c. reduced-fat milk

    10. Spoon two-thirds of the batter (about 4 cups) into the prepared pan.

    11. To the remaining batter, add:

    3/4 c. chocolate syrup
    1/4 t. baking soda

    12. Stir just until blended.

    13. Spoon on top of batter.

    14. Bake at 350 degrees (F) for one hour 15 minutes, or until cake pulls away from side of pan.

    15. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

    16. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

    17. Sift over cake:

    1 T. unsweetened cocoa

    Makes 18 servings.
