    Baked Apples

    List of Ingredients

    6 large apples (baking) cored
    2 1/2 cups brown sugar
    1/4 cup flour
    3 Tbsps lemon juice
    1 cup water
    3 tbsps butter
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 cup raisins, optional

    Recipe

    Wash and core apples. In a small bowl sift together the flour and brown sugar. Stir in lemon juice and water and whisk until smooth. Place apples in a 8 in. square baker and evenly divide raisins up amongst them and fill the centers. Sprinkle raisins with a bit of cinnamon. Pour brown sugar sauce over all and sprinkle additional cinnamon on top. Dot with butter. Bake in a preheated 375° oven uncovered for 1 hour,basting occasionally with the sauce. Serve warm.
