Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix - in a Jar

List of Ingredients




2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts) optional

1 quart, wide-mouth canning jar

Recipe



Use a 1 quart, wide-mouth canning jar. Pack each layer. Combine the flour and baking powder together and pour in the jar, then add the brown sugar, and the white sugar. Put the chocolate chips and walnuts into a resealable bag, and place on top of the other ingredients in the jar. Seal and decorate the jar, and attach the recipe tag.

DIRECTIONS (attach with a pretty recipe tag)

You will need:

1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup milk

Remove the chocolate chips and nuts from the jar and set aside. Use a large bowl to mix the contents of the jar together. In another bowl, beat together butter, eggs, vanilla and milk. Add the egg mixture to the muffin mix and blend well. Blend in the nuts and chocolate chips. Using a greased muffin pan, fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees F. for about 15 to 20 minutes. Cool. Makes 1 dozen.
