    Raisin Pie

    This is an old family recipe handed down for at least 4 generations. ~~ Julia

    List of Ingredients

    2 pie crusts

    1 1/4 cup seeded raisins

    1/2 cup sugar

    1 egg, beaten

    @ 3 Tbsp. milk

    1 Tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar

    2 Tbsp. cornstarch

    1/4 tsp. salt

    1/2 cup walnuts

    Recipe

    Cook raisins in 1 1/4 cup boiling water until tender. Mix sugar, salt, and flour together. Add a bit of milk to make this into a thin paste, then stir, a little at a time into the boiled raisins. Bring to a boil.. Add lemon juice or vinegar. Add 1 T of milk to the beaten egg and mix. Stir in a T of the raisin mixture to the beaten egg. Pour egg mixture into the raisins, stirring slowly all the time. Bring to a boil and remove from the heat. Add the walnuts. Pour into one pie crust and cover the 2nd, ( personally, like to cut strips and weave them for a top crust. Bake until top crust is browned at 450°F.
