Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes

4 cups cooked mashed potatoes, hot
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup (10.75 oz)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 cups french's fried onionsRecipe
Heat mashed potatoes, soup, 1 cup cheese and garlic powder in saucepan. Stir until cheese melts. Spoon potato mixture into 2-quart baking dish. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese and French fried onions. Bake 5-10 minutes at 375° or until hot and until onions are golden. Makes 6 to 8 servings
