    Bucholz's Apple Pie

    Can't Remember

    List of Ingredients

    Crust
    2/3 cup and 2 tablespoons shortening
    2 cups flour
    1 tsp salt
    6 tablespoons ice water

    Filling
    6 medium Granny Smith Apples
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup flour
    1 tablespoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    juice from 1 lemon

    Recipe

    Crust Mix
    Mix salt and flour and cut shortenning with pastry cutter or 2 knives until crumbly
    Add water one tablesppon at a time and fluff with a fork
    Form dough into two balls and wrap in plastic
    Press into disk, store in fridge

    Filling Mix
    Peel core and slice apples
    Mix in remaining ingredients

    Baking
    Preheat oven to 425°
    Remove dough from fridge
    Roll one on floured surface and place in 9 inch pie plate
    Add filling
    Repeat the rolling of dough with the second piece and place on top of the pie, cut slits into crust
    Bake until crust is browning and slightly crumbly
