    List of Ingredients

    Crust:
    4 C Flour
    2 t Salt
    2/3 C Shortening
    2/3 C Lard
    3/4 to 1 C Cold Water
    Filling:
    1 1/4 # Round Steak
    1/2 # Pork Steak
    4 Medium Potatoes
    4 Carrots
    2 Small Onions
    1/2 Rutabaga
    2 t Salt
    Pepper
    Butter

    Recipe

    Keep vegetables in cold salt water until ready to grind.
    Grind meat and vegetables in meat grinder. Mix crust ingredients to form dough. Dived dough in fourths. Roll out a fourth and cut into 4 squares. Scoop even portions of vegetable - meat mixture onto center of each square. Top with tsp of butter. Fold each corner up and pinch together. prick with fork to vent. Bake at 350 degrees a little over an hour. Yield 16 pasties.
