Sugar Spice Puffs

List of Ingredients
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
3/4 cup lukewarm milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/4 cup flour
TOPPING MIXTURE:
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamonRecipe
Combine yeast and water; let stand 5 minutes. In large mixing bowl, combine milk, sugar, salt, shortening, eggs, yeast mixture and half of the flour. Beat 2 minutes with mixer; add remaining flour and vanilla. Beat two more minutes. Drop 1 tablespoon batter in well-greased medium-sized muffin cup. Place in warm place until double in size (30-40 minutes). Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans and dip top and sides in mixture of butter, sugar, cinnamon mixture. Serve warm.
Yield: 18-24 puffs.
NOTE: May use frozen bread dough and then when baked roll in cinnamon mixture.
