    Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

    List of Ingredients

    1 pound Jimmy Dean sage sausage
    3-4 tbsp. flour
    extra butter as needed *
    2 cups fresh milk
    1 can evaporated milk
    splash of worcestershire sauce
    splash of tabasco (optional)
    salt & pepper to taste

    * JD sausage is lean; extra butter is often needed. If your favorite sausage renders more fat, you not only won't need butter, you may need to spoon off excess fat before adding the flour.


    Recipe

    Crumble & brown sausage in large skillet, add flour and butter, continue cooking while scraping bottom of skillet to prevent burning. As flour begins to brown, add milk and seasonings; continue cooking until thickened, stirring constantly. Cook 3-4 more minutes, thinning with more milk if necessary. Serve hot over your favorite fresh-from-the-oven biscuits.
