    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup butter
    2 cups white sugar
    4 eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 3/4 cups milk

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350º.

    Cream together shortening, butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

    In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Mix well. Pour batter into prepared pan.

    Bake until cake tests done. Cool.

    9 x 13 pan about 45 min.
