Frank-A-Roni Casserole

1 pkg. (7 oz.) elbow macaroni
1 Tbs butter
2 tbs finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
8 frankfurters
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheeseRecipe
Cook macaroni according to pkg directions; drain. In a small skillet, melt butter, sauté onion until tender. Stir in salt and garlic powder. Cut 7 hot dogs into 1/2" pieces reserving one for garnish. In large bowl combine macaroni, onion mixture, hot dogs, cottage cheese and sour cream, lightly mixing well. Turn into 2 qt. casserole. Cut reserved hot dog into thin slices crosswise, arrange in circle on top of casserole. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese inside ring of hot dog slices.
Bake at 350º for 30 minutes.
Makes 5-6 servings.
