Apple Orange Brownies

1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. applesauce
2 eggs
1 T. grated orange peel
2 t. vanilla
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1/2 t. baking soda
1 c. chopped walnuts





Recipe

In med. saucepan, melt butter; remove from heat. Add br. sugar. Stir until blended; cool. Beat in applesauce, eggs, orange peel and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda; stir into applesauce mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 in. pan. Bake in 350* oven for 25 to 30 min. Makes 48 brownies
