Cranberry Almond Thumbprints

List of Ingredients
1 C Butter -- Softened
2/3 C Sugar
1/2 Tsp Almond Extract
2 C All-Purpose Flour
Cookie Filling
1/3 C Red Plum Jam
1/4 C Dried Cranberries
Recipe
Heat oven to 350°
In large mixer bowl combine butter, sugar and extract. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce speed to low; add flour. Beat until well mixed. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Make indentation in center of each cookie. Combine filling ingredients and put 1/4 tsp in each cookie. Bake 14-18 mins, or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet.
NOTES : Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies
