Grandma’s Molasses Cookies I

1 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup molasses with 1 Tablespoon baking soda stirred in.
1 cup cold water
6 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon mace
1 Tablespoon vanilla Recipe
Cream the sugar and Crisco. Beat in eggs until light. Beat in molasses.
Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with cold water. Refrigerate at least 1 hour to over night before rolling and cutting. Bake on greased cookie sheets 12-15 minutes (or until set) @ 350 degrees.
Make an indentation and fill center with jelly before baking, or cut in shapes and ice after cookies are cooled.
