Pork Spareribs

List of Ingredients
3 lbs spareribs
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 28 oz. can tomatoes
1/4 cup brown sugar
chopped celery, green pepper, onion
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Recipe
Cut ribs into serving size portions- (usually about 2 ribs each). Brown in skillet in a little oil- not much. Salt and pepper them to taste. Place in crock pot. Stir together the undrained tomatoes and the chopped vegetables, and pour over the ribs. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Lift the ribs out and spoon off any excess fat. Blend cold water and cornstarch together and stir into liquid in crock. Cook on high until bubbly and thickened.
*Easy alternative* Brown the ribs as above, place in crock and pour a bottle of brown-sugar bbq sauce over them. Be sure to skim off the fat before serving.
