Spaghetti Sauce Italiano

Recipe Introduction
This recipe is for a 3.5 or 4qt crock, double the ingredients for a larger crock.
List of Ingredients
8 oz Italian sausage
4 oz ground beef (we like a meaty sauce, so I am adding more)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
1 16 oz can undrained tomatoes, cut up (I use crushed)
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 4oz can mushrooms, drained (I like these too, so I'll add more)
1/2 cup green pepper chopped
2 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
dash of salt
Recipe
In a skillet, brown sausages. Drain on paper towels. In same skillet, brown ground beef, onion and garlic until meat is browned and onion is tender, drain off fat.
In crockpot, combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, sweet pepper, tapioca, bay leaf, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Add meat and mix well.
Cover and cook 8-10 hours on low setting (4-5 hours on high). Discard Bay leaf and serve over your favorite pasta.
