    MERINGUE CRUST
    6 egg whites
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1-3/4 cups sugar

    FILLING
    2 cups chilled whipping cream
    2 packages (3 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 cups miniature marshmallows

    For Topping:

    1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    2 cups sliced fresh strawberries or 1 package (16 ounces) frozen strawberries, thawed and drained


    Recipe



    For Meringue:

    Heat oven to 275 degrees. Butter 9-by-13-by-2-inch baking dish. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until foamy.

    Beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, continuing to beat until stiff and glossy. (Do not underbeat.) Spread in prepared pan and bake 1 hour. Turn off oven and leave in the closed oven for 12 hours.

    For Filling:

    In the chilled bowl, beat the chilled whipping cream until stiff. In another dish, blend cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Gently fold into whipped cream with the marshmallows. Spread over meringue crust. Chill 12-24 hours.

    TOPPING

    Stir ingredients together. Cut pie into serving pieces and spoon 1/4 cup of this topping over each serving.

    Serves 12.
