    Oil for deep-frying
    Wieners
    Wood skewers
    1 cup buttermilk pancake mix
    2 tablespoons prepared cornbread mix
    1 tablespoon sugar
    2/3 cup water

    Recipe



    In a deep-fat-fryer or deep pan, preheat oil to 375°. Meanwhile, dry off wieners with paper towel. Put each wiener on a skewer.

    In bowl, stir together buttermilk, pancake mix, cornbread mix and sugar. Add water and stir thoroughly. Dip wieners into batter and deep-fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3 minutes.

    Yield: a lot!
