Oven Fried Chicken w/biscuits & peaches

List of Ingredients
¼ C veg shortening
4 T butter (margarine) ~ I use butter
1 C + 2 T flour
2 tsp paprika (I use Hungarian)
¼ tsp salt
Freshly ground pepper (or cracked black)
1 Chicken (3#) cut up
1 can (6oz) refrigerator biscuits (I just make plain ol' drop biscuits)
1 can (30oz) cling peach halves, drained (or apricots)
Whole cloves
1 ½ C hot milk Recipe
Preheat oven to 425°
Place shortenin n butter in a 12x9x2” bake dish n set in oven until melted. In a plastic or paper bag combine 1 C flour, paprika, salt, n pepper. Add chix a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat. Place chix skin side down in hot shortening. Bake 45 min’s n turn.
Push chix to one end of pan. At the other end, arrange (or drop) the uncooked biscuits in a single layer, w/out draining off shortening.
Stick each peach (or apricot) w/a clove n place on top of chix (for apricots I do 2 or 3 per dependin on sz of breasts). Return to oven n bake 15 min’s
To make gravy, remove chix, biscuits n peaches (or apricots) to a servin platter n keep warm.
Pour pan drippins into a med~size saucepan n place over med heat.
Whisk in 2 T flour n cook for 1 min w/out browning. Whisk in milk, bring to a boil n cook, stirrin constant til thick n smooth. Serve w/chix n biscuits.
