    Green Beans w/Cashews

    Source of Recipe

    by Laurel, from Leeann Chin

    Recipe Introduction

This recipe is from Ann L. Burckhardt's A Cook's Tour of Minnesota, but it originated from Leeann Chin, Minneopolis restaurateur

    List of Ingredients

    1 pound fresh green beans
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    2 teaspoons minced garlic
    2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
    2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 ounces roasted cashews (about 1/2 cup), coarsely chopped, if desired

    Recipe

Rinse the beans with cold water; drain. Snap off both ends. Break beans in half or in 2-inch pieces.

Heat a wok or skillet over high heat. Add the vegetable oil and beans; stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the garlic, hoisin sauce, and oyster sauce; cover and cook until tender-crisp, about 4 minutes. Remove to a serving platter. Garnish with roast cashews. Serve immediately.

I added some sprinkles of red pepper flakes and I liked the "bite" they added.
