    A friend.

    Recipe Introduction

This is a great summer salad but I use it all year long.

    List of Ingredients

    SALAD:
    1Head Green Leaf Lettuce*
½ cup Roasted, Salted Sunflower Seeds
1 ½ cups Thin Chow Mein Noodles
    ½ cup Slivered Almonds
    Mandarin Oranges (optional)
    Dried Cranberries (optional)

*Bagged spring mix will work as well.

    DRESSING:
    ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
3 TBS Pourable Brown Sugar or Light Brown Sugar
3 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar or Salad Vinegar

    Recipe

Mix dressing ingredients in a covered shaker bottle and let stand. Shake every few minutes. Do not put dressing onto salad until just before serving.

Thoroughly clean lettuce. Tear spine from each leaf and discard spine. Tear lettuce into large salad bowl and put in the rest of the salad ingredients. Put in refrigerator until ready to dress and serve.

I like to serve the mandarin oranges and the dried cranberries on the side since some guests don’t want them in their salad.
