    My own low calorie adaptation

    List of Ingredients





    6-8 Pita pockets
    Yogurt sauce:
    1/3 cup finely chopped, seeded cucumber
    2 T finely chopped sweet onion
    8 oz. nofat plain yogurt
    1/2 packet Equal or Sweet'n Low
    2 garlic cloves, finely minced
    1/2 t. dried mint
    Lamb mixture:
    1/2 lb. ground lean lamb
    1/2 lb. ground lean turkey
    1 garlic clove, finely minced
    1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    3/4 teaspoon pepper

    shredded lettuce
    slice tomatoes
    sliced sweet onions




    Recipe



    Combine yogurt sauce ingredients and refrigerate
    Mix meats, garlic, oregano, onion powder, salt and pepper well.
    Press into 1/4" patties (I used old Tupperware hamburger press)
    Place into freezer to firm.
    Grill on outside grill, toaster oven or under broiler until done.
    Slice each patty horizontally.
    Place shredded lettuce, tomato and onion slices and in pita pocket which has been cut in half and kept warm.
    Place lamb patty in and top with yogurt dressing to taste.
