    Bread, Camembert French Bread


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 loaf French bread, sliced in half horizontally
    • 1 stick butter
    • 4 oz Camembert cheese cut into small pieces
    • 1 tbsp grated onion
    • 1/2 tsp basil
    • 1/2 tsp salt


    Instructions


    1. Combine the butter, cheese, onion, basil and salt and cook 5 minutes in a saucepan, stirring to break up cheese.

    2. Spread 1/2 of the mixture on the bottom half of the bread loaf. Cover with the top half of the bread and spread the top with the remaining cheese mixture.

    3. Wrap the loaf securely in aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Open foil and bake 5 minutes more.

    4. Slice diagonally into 2 inch slices.



    Final Comments


    The bread may be frozen before baking, thawed and baked as above.
