Bread, Camembert French Bread
List of Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced in half horizontally
- 1 stick butter
- 4 oz Camembert cheese cut into small pieces
- 1 tbsp grated onion
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Combine the butter, cheese, onion, basil and salt and cook 5 minutes in a saucepan, stirring to break up cheese.
- Spread 1/2 of the mixture on the bottom half of the bread loaf. Cover with the top half of the bread and spread the top with the remaining cheese mixture.
- Wrap the loaf securely in aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Open foil and bake 5 minutes more.
- Slice diagonally into 2 inch slices.
Final Comments
The bread may be frozen before baking, thawed and baked as above.
