Bread, Cheyenne Cheese
List of Ingredients
- 6 bacon slices
- 3-3/4 cups flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (8 oz)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
Instructions
- Crisp the bacon; reserve 2 tbsp fat.
- Combine dry ingredients. Crumble bacon and add to dry ingredients along with the cheese and onion.
- Combine the bacon fat, milk and eggs. Add to the cheese mixture, mixing until just moistened.
- Spoon into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from pan immediately.
