    List of Ingredients




    3 large sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled and sliced, or 1 (18-ounce) can sweet potatoes packed without syrup

    2 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced

    1 pound frankfurters, halved and split

    1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

    1/4 cup packed brown sugar

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    1/2 cup soft bread crumbs

    2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

    Recipe



    1. Preheat oven to 375° F. Grease a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.

    2. Alternate layers of potatoes, apples, franks and cheese in prepared dish, using half of each.

    3. Mix sugar and salt and sprinkle over potato mixture. Repeat layers with the remaining half of each ingredient, sprinkling with remaining sugar and lemon juice.

    4. Mix bread crumbs with the melted butter and sprinkle on top.

    5. Cover and bake for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer.

    Serves 6
