1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups grated unpeeled apple
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
BRANDY SAUCE:
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon boiling water
2 tablespoons brandy
Dash salt
Recipe
Cream butter and sugar; add egg, and beat well.
Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, stirring well.
Add remaining pudding ingredients, stirring well.
Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35 minutes or until done. Serve warm or cold with Brandy Sauce.
BRANDY SAUCE:
Combine butter and powdered sugar; beat until smooth. Add water, brandy, and salt; beat until fluffy.
