Peach and Cream Cheese Salad

This is probably sweet enough to be considered a dessert as well. My mom always served this with little tea sandwiches for her women's card group.
List of Ingredients
Large can peach halves, drained and chilled (reserve 1T. syrup)
Small package cream cheese, softened
5 dates, pitted and chopped
2T. chopped walnuts
1T. grated orange rind
Recipe
Blend reserved peach syrup into softened cream cheese, mixing till fluffy. Add the dates, walnuts, and orange rind. Serve over 5-8 peach halves on lettuce leaves. Top each with second peach half to form "whole" peach.
