    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup butter
    2/3 cup sugar
    2/3 cup packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup mashed ripe bananas
    2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
6 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    Powdered sugar, optional

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 15x10x1" baking pan with a little shortening.
In a large mixer bowl, beat butter with electric mixer on medium speed until softened, about 30 seconds.
Add sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Stir in bananas.
In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
With mixer on low speed gradually add the flour mixture to the banana mixture, beating until well mixed with wooden spoon.
    Stir in semi-sweet chocolate pieces.
Spread batter in the greased baking pan.
Bake in oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Let cool in pan on a cooling rack.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
    Cut into bars.

    Makes 48 bars.
