    List of Ingredients




    6 medium potatoes
    Salt
    1/2 cup milk
    3 tablespoons butter or margarine
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    Parsley sprigs (if you like)

    Recipe



    Wash and pare potatoes.
    Cut each potato in half on cutting board.
    Using a measuring cup, pour 1 inch of water into saucepan.
    Keep track of how many cups of water you usem then add 1/2 teaspoons salt for each cup of water.
    Add the potatoes.
    (The water should just cover them.)
    Cover and cook over medium heat 20 to 25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with fork.
    Drain the potatoes in colander.
    Return the potatoes to saucepan and mash potatoes with potato masher until no lumps remain.
    Add milk, butter and salt.
    Beat vigorously until light and fluffy.
    Spoon the potatoes into serving dish.
    Snip some parsley onton the potatoes with scissors.
