    CORNBREAD BEEF PIE

    List of Ingredients




    Combine in skillet
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lg. onion, chopped

    Brown well. Add:
    1/2 can (10-1/2 oz.) tomato soup
    2 C. water
    1 tsp. salt


    Mix well and let simmer 15 minutes. Turn into a greased casserole. Top with corn bread mixture. Bake in a 350° oven for 20 minutes.

    Cornbread Mixture
    3/4 C. corn meal
    1 Tbs. sugar
    1 Tbs. flour
    1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, well beaten
    1/2 C. milk
    1 Tbs. bacon drippings

    Turn onto beef mixture. Do not worry if this topping sinks during baking. It will rise again, and cook crispy.
