    Choco-Cream Cheese Cookies

    Source of Recipe

My Friend and former Co-worker, Nicky Dixon, in Feb. 2000

    Recipe Introduction

1 pkg (250 gr) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1 1/2 cup sugar
1 pkg Chocolate Chips (300 gr)
    2 1/4 cups flour
    1 1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup nuts or pecans, optional

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 pkg (250 gr) cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
    • 1 egg
    • 1 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 pkg Chocolate Chips (300 gr)
    • 2 1/4 cups flour
    • 1 1/2 tsp soda
    • 1/2 cup nuts or pecans, optional
    • 1/4 coconut, optional, but very tasty

    Instructions

    1. Beat cream cheese with butter or margarine.
    2. Add egg and sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
    3. Melt one cup of the chocolate chips in microwave and when cooled down a bit, pour that into the cream cheese mixture and beat well.
    4. Then stir in flour, soda and nuts, along with the remaining UNMELTED CHOCOLATE CHIPS.
    5. Bake on ungreased sheets at 350 degrees between 9-12 minutes, while watching carefully so they don't burn.
    6. Remove from the oven and let cool on wire rack about 5 minutes before removing from pans.

    Final Comments

Recipe yields approximately 70 cookies, chewey & moist. They freeze extremely well and are rather much tastier fresh out of the freezer, like a fudgy brownie. I say this from experience after having baked these at least twice a month for 3 years.
These don't expand too much in the pan if the dough is stiff enough.
From start to finish when you've washed all the dishes and put all the pans away.....about one hour's work. Easy as 1-2-3!
