    3 potatoes -- pared, thinly sliced, up to 4 total
    3 carrots -- pared, thinly sliced, up to 4 total
    1 chopped onion -- optional
    Salt and pepper -- to taste
    3 pounds rump roast -- pot roast or brisket
    1 cup beef consomme


    Recipe



    Place vegetables in bottom of slow cooker.

    Salt and pepper meat. Place in slow cooker.

    Pour consomme around meat.

    Cover and cook on ow 10 to 12 hours or on high 4 to 5 hours.

    Serves 6.
