    2 cups sugar
    2/3 cup milk
    2 tablespoons light corn syrup
    2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Combine milk, sugar, corn syrup and chocolate in 2-quart microwave-safe

    bowl. Stir well.

    Microwave uncovered on high for 5 to 5 1/2 minutes or until mixture

    boils; stirring once. Stir well and scrape any sugar crystals from side

    of bowl. Insert microwave candy thermometer into mixture.

    Microwave on high, uncovered, for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 minutes or until 235° F

    on microwave safe candy thermometer. Add butter but do not stir. cool

    mixture without stirring to 120° F. Add vanilla to fudge and beat well

    for 5 to 10 minutes or until mixture becomes thick and begins to lose

    its gloss. Spread into baking pan. Cool until firm. Cut into squares.
