    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 pounds round steak,1/2 " thick -- 1" x 1 1/2" pieces
    1 tablespoon shortening or olive oil
    1 package brown gravy mix
    2 cups water
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 large bay leaf, whole
    1/8 cup red wine vinegar
    1 tablespoon instant minced onion
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper

    1) Brown meat in shortening or oil.

    2) Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and 4 cups of water to skillet.

    3) Bring to a boil stirring constantly.

    4) Stir in the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, bay leaves,
    vinegar, onion, salt and pepper.

    5) Return meat to skillet and mix thoroughly to coat meat.

    6) Turn into casserole dish, cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours @ 350
    degrees or cook in covered electric skillet.

    7) Remove bay leaf.
