Ground Beef Patties

1 potato -- cooked
1 onion
1 pound ground beef
1 egg
salt and pepper
2/3 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 cup beef stock -- or water
Grate potato and chop onion and mix well with ground beef, egg and seasoning. Form into patties and fry in butter on both sides.
Cook a total of 8 to 10 minutes over medium high heat, basting occasionally with pan juices.
Prepare gravy from fat, cornstarch and beef stock or water. Can also serve with Onion Butter instead of gravy.
