Microwave Stuffed Green Peppers

6 large green peppers
1 pound extra lean ground beef
2 tablespoons onion -- chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup cooked white rice
15 ounces tomato sauce
3/4 cup mozzarella cheese -- o
Clean and prepare green peppers. Place cut sides up in ungreased 9 to 10-inch microwave safe pie plate. Cover with plastic wrap; microwave until hot, 3 to 4 minutes. Mix cooked rice, uncooked ground beef, onion, salt, garlic salt and 1 cup of the tomato sauce. Stuff each pepper with about 1/2 cup ground beef mixture. Cover with plastic wrap; microwave 6 minutes. Trn plate 1/4 turn; microwave until mixture is done, 6 to 7 minutes longer. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, if using.
