Butter Kist Chicken

1/4 cup butter
3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces
salt -- to taste
water
Melt butter in heavy skillet. Drop in chicken pices. Cover skillet tightly. Simmer, tunirng pices occasionally and sprinkling them with salt. As necessary, add small amounts of water, about 2 tablespoons at a time, to prevent chicken from browning. When meat is tender (2 to 2 1/2 hours) remove cover and brown chicken. Remove chicken pieces to platter and serve.
